Who can use the standard?
These certificates and marks are registered trademarks of Fairtrade International. The standard can be used by groups that meet specific requirements, including agricultural cooperatives, large farms or factories with hired labour.
Companies that buy and sell fair trade products can also use the standard. Holders must consider minimum prices during market fluctuations and align their pricing conditions with the standard.
For more than three decades, fair trade has been improving the way business is done through better prices, better working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers.

Decision questions
Before you begin.
Clear answers to the questions that usually shape the scope of this service.
01Is this official Fairtrade certification?+
No. Brand Valley must not imply affiliation with, approval by or certification from an independent standards body unless that relationship is formally verified.
02What does the review examine?+
The exact scope depends on the claim, but can include sourcing records, supplier policies, labour evidence, governance responsibilities and the consistency of public communication.
03Can we publish a fair-trade claim after the review?+
The review can identify evidence and risk, but permission to use protected marks or make regulated claims depends on the relevant jurisdiction and certifying organisation.
